During the Thai cooking class I took tonight, this fish sauce baby cracked me up. Highlight of the event.

Durrance Lake
Another lovely Sunday drive. The walking portion of the day was cut short by my reluctance to spend any time looking for my gloves. :)
All photos taken today using my 50mm lens.

Sunday Drive
Hopped in the car, pointed West and stopped when the opportunity arose. Grey skies and rain still made for excellent photo opportunities.
Somewhere in Sooke there is a peg-leg seagull. Arrrrr.

Butchart Gardens
On a very chilly December night, three girls took an annual trip to see the Christmas lights at Butchart Gardens…
Without much preparation or gear I dragged James Dean along for the trip.
My favourite vignette. French Hens! They have croissants and cafe au lait!
Sunken gardens. I kind of dig the blurry effects.
Gorgeous.
Maids a Milking! Mooooo.
Poor guy’s nose is rubbed raw. Doesn’t seem so lucky for him!
Happy Belated Holidays!

Esquimalt Lagoon
Finally took my new EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens for a walk today. I knew right away that I wanted to visit Esquimalt Lagoon because it always offers a variety of scenery and it’s been at least 3 years since I have been there.
Hatley Castle. Remember X-Men?
Never seen a duck(?) with a blue bill before.
The multiple types of birds were fun and amazing. Anyone have any clue what this fellow with the red turkey-esque beak is all about? I thought some sort of turkey vulture, but he’s got webbed feets!
Favourite shot of the day…
Froze my nose off, but it was worthwhile. :)
